After taking your requisite selfie, we descend into the hear of the Rift Valley and enter Masai land. On the way to our home for the next two days, you'll get a glimpse of some wildlife as well as the local people tending to cattle and enjoying local living. The next day is when the real fun begins, as we depart shortly after sunrise on our game drive into the Masai Mara Reserve. We game through a section of the park in search of the 'Big 5' - elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion & leopard.
Leopards are the smallest of the 'big cats', and their graceful spotted bodies are known to be ferocious stealthlike

"I want to thank you for the Great Experience I had with On The Go in Africa. My best holiday ever. The Tour leader, driver and chef were exceptional. Really good down to earth guys who were very knowledge and helpful. The itinerary was amazing and the highlight being the Gorillas"
Days 6-9: Lake Bunyoni & Gorilla Trekking
Lake Bunyoni is the deepest Crater Lake in Africa and home to stunning wildlife, it is also our base as we explore the local national parks on our search for the gorillas. Dependent on where permits are available, we trek in the Machinga or Bwindi National Parks in Uganda, the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, or the Ruhengeri National Park in Rwanda.
There are only 700 remaining mountain gorillas, as as such many precautions are made to ensure the sustainability of their habitats, as well as their health and wellbeing. The free roaming animals are closely monitored by park rangers, however, their sighting cannot be guaranteed. It is recommended you have a reasonable level of fitness to take part in the trek as you will be hiking anywhere between 45 minutes and 8 hours! The permitted time to spend with them is one hour.
The Gorilla trek is the highlight of the trip, and a once in a lifetime experience
When you're not trekking there is plenty to see and do in Lake Bunyoni!
