Explore the island your way
Many visitors to Kangaroo Island choose to book a hire car in Adelaide and take it with them on the SeaLink vehicle and passenger ferry over to Kangaroo Island, or use one of the car rental companies on the island itself. KI is about two-and-a-half hours' drive east to west, with a number of unsealed country roads that promise a scenic road trip (and a smooth one if you book a car that can tackle the different terrain).
